Risk Management Industry Night
A flagship panel evening introducing the breadth of careers, issues, and pathways in risk management — with Munk alumni and invited professionals from institutions like RBC and Manulife.
The discussion runs from career trajectories to the major risks facing organizations today, then turns practical: what skills employers value in risk-related roles, and how to position yourself for internships and full-time opportunities.
Run of show
- 01
Welcome
Brief remarks from RAMS executives and our faculty advisor.
- 02
Moderated panel · 45–60 min
Three to four speakers across different risk functions discuss career trajectories, the risks facing organizations today, and the skills employers actually value.
- 03
Networking reception
Open conversation with panelists and alumni over light refreshments.
The format
- 01
Curated guest list
Munk alumni and practitioners from banking, advisory, public policy, and enterprise risk — including RBC personnel.
- 02
Timed rounds
Students rotate through standing stations and small conversation clusters, so everyone gets real face time.
- 03
Facilitated introductions
RAMS executives make introductions and ensure MGA and MPP students alike have equitable access to guests.

Networking Evening with Risk Professionals
Smaller and more informal than the panel — an evening built around one-on-one and small-group conversation with people already doing the work.
Ask the detailed questions that never fit in a panel Q&A: career paths, recruiting timelines, technical skill development, and the day-to-day reality of risk work in banking, financial services, policy, advisory, and enterprise risk functions.
Registration opens by email, first.
Spots at both evenings are limited to keep conversation real. Mailing list members hear when registration opens — before anyone else.
